- 2½ C flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 C warm (110 F) water
- 1 package yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp olive oil
- Mozzarella cheese
- Pizza sauce (we use Prego)
Mix the water, yeast, and sugar in a mixing bowl; let sit for three minutes (yeast should foam). Add the flour, salt, and olive oil, and mix on speed 2 (all speeds here assume a KitchenAid stand mixer) for a few minutes, until the dough has come together and is behaving like dough. You may need to add a bit more flour, but the 2½ cups will usually be enough. Put the ball of dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for an hour.
Stretch the dough out to fit whatever you plan to bake the pizza on, and top as desired. Bake at 450F for about 10 minutes.
