BetterTelnet and Kerberos Authentication/Encryption |
Somewhat updated as of 2004. Most of this information is current and applies to MacSSH as well.
Kerberos 4, if you use KClient: (Cornell)
1. First, you will need BetterTelnet.
2. Next, you will need the Kerberos Telnet plugin. Put this in the same folder as BetterTelnet itself.
3. You will then need KClient, or MIT Kerberos for Macintosh (see below under Kerberos 5).
Kerberos 4, if you use AuthMan: (University of Michigan)
1. First, you will need BetterTelnet.
2. Next, you will need Dan Hyde's AuthMan plugin, which must be placed in the same folder as BetterTelnet itself.
3. Finally, you will need AuthMan, which is available from this page. The version you want is 1.0.9A. However, it appears to have disappeared, and more recent versions (2.0.4) seem to work just as well.
Kerberos 5 (2.0b4 and later, including MacSSH):
You will need MIT Kerberos for Macintosh (version 4.0.3 needed for Kerberos 5 support), and this plugin for BetterTelnet or MacSSH.
