I'm an articulate, analytically gifted communicator and information provider, with a broad experiential base and a strong interest in large scale social issues, who can provide understanding and solutions for difficult technical problems with a definite human dimension. Increasing the quality of life for myself and all members of society is the fundamental cornerstone of my professional desires. In particular, I want to help increase the sense of social connection and involvement in my immediate and global surroundings. I want to help cultivate a physical environment that allows us all to enjoy our lives and readily access our sources of joy, both in terms of daily and irregular activities. I want to help increase our understanding of our world, and the people in it. I want to help increase our sense of security from harm, and access to assistance in the event that that security is violated. I want to increase our respect for one another, as well as our respect for differences. Understanding comlicated topics, connecting them to one another, and effectively explaining them to other people form the core of my abilities. I have I have always had a gift for math and other analytical pursuits, readily assimilating both hard and soft scientific information. In addition, I rapidly develop an understanding of complex information, making associations between bodies of information, my experiences, and possible applications automatically. I have also relied on an ability to express and share understandings I develop and make connections with people. My temperament plays a major role in shaping how I work and live my life. I prefer to work in small, agreement oriented groups, which contain diverse viewpoints united by a common goal. I like to explore ideas and and enjoy new experiences. I almost always find myself evaluating events around me to obtain greater understanding of what is happening and how it affects other things. I also find myself naturally taking on explanatory roles when interacting with others. I have many strong assets, but the most broadly relevant are my educational and experiential backgrounds. My undergraduate educational background at a well recognized university as well as the graduate degree I am currently pursuing provide me with skills, experience and many potentially valuable connections. The variety in my undergraduate education allows me to communicate with a variety of educated and influential people. My prior focus on computers and science provides me with an additional unusual and potentially valuable resource. Additionally, I have a broad range of experiences, geographically, as well as professionally and volunteer-based. I have lived in several different parts of the US, the midwest, the east, and the west. Additionally, I've lived in various settings: rural, suburban and urban. Professionally, I have experience with research, tutoring and teaching, counseling, programming, office and unskilled work. My volunteer experience expands upon this, and additionally provides me with experience in leadership, budgeting, group, medical, and organizational planning work. I've made a broad social network, including some very strong connections. Ultimately this means that I can select from my experiences and pull upon a set of appropriate assets for the circumstances I find myself in. Explanations and understanding of problems form the core of my product. Combining the resources spelled out above, I can develop an understanding of existing conflicts, resource allocations, systems, and critical linkages. I can use this understanding to provide explanations, areas for examination, and suggestions for improvement, or proposals for solutions. I would be particularly able in understanding the interaction of technical complexity and social issues. My potential market is any group or individual which finds itself with a technical problem impinging on the public interest. This would include organizations seeking to better understand how their efforts or product(s) affect the public, as well as those seeking to integrate their actions with the greater public good, mitigate harm, or select, or suggest policies which would benefit them.
